This week’s best car ad (and prettiest) has to be the launch of Maserati’s new Grancabrio, set against a skyline where, no doubt, the four seater drop-top can be found on every street corner. But here in the real world it seems to have been a relatively quiet ad week running up-to March and plate-change, with no new campaigns launched and most activity being a continuation of that previously reported.

Amongst the continuing new car campaigns, BMW (5-Series), Citroen (C3), Mercedes (E-Class Estate), Peugeot (RCZ) and Skoda (Superb Estate) continue to feature.
Manufacturers promoting new model variances include Audi (A6 Le Mans), Fiat (Punto-Evo) and Vauxhall (Insignia EcoFlex).
Whilst manufacturers offering low APR % promotions has slowed this week to Ford (Fiesta at 4.9%), Mercedes continuing to promote the A160 (at 3.9%) and Seat (promoting Leon at 8.8%).

Elsewhere, other manufacturers’ advertising include:

• Fiat feature the 500 humorously highlighting 2010 isn’t a leap year, and promoting their ‘Feel3’ service plan.
• Honda feature the Civic highlighting its reliability so giving peace of mind, and the CR-V set against a cut-away of a NCP car park in Glasgow.
• Kia continue to promote their seven years extended warranty.
• Land Rover promote their connection to rugby with a competition – coinciding with a weekend of Home Nations international games – promising a corporate box at Twickenham to the lucky winner with entries submitted by text message.
• Toyota continue to feature their full page apology ad, with the headline ‘We’re pulling together to put things right’.
• VW highlight the technology and energy efficiencies of their DSG gearbox.
